Belancer Steps Into Its Beta Version
1st June marks the second month for Belancer– the first Bangladeshi market place for freelancers. Moreover, the Belancer 2.0 version has also been launched today. Within this short time, Belancer has registered over 6,800 freelancers and has added more than 520 companies and 154 projects in its repertoire.
This initiative to develop a local platform for freelancers aside from international sites such as Odesk-Elance, vWorker, Envato Studios, People per Hour etc was facilitated from the beginning by the ICT Division. Belancer Co-Founder Shafiul Alam stated, “The site currently has 150,000 unique visitors, a page view of over 26 lacs and more than 70 lac hits. Thanks to the tireless effort of 350 volunteers, Belancer has become a major source of earnings for skilled tech workers of the country.” Already, the value of the entire project has risen to Tk. 30 lacs. The current Alexa raking for the site is 245 in Bangladesh and 108000 worldwide.
Belancer has its roots in the Amar Desk platform which was launched in 2013. Extensive branding towards clients, reliable technical expertise, secure payment systems coupled with government support led to Amar Desk transforming into Belancer from 17th March this year.
